On Saturday, Nov. 2, the Timberline Spartans competed in the IHSAA State XC Championships, which were held at the Portneuf Wellness Complex in Pocatello.

Junior Carson Sellers, a three time state qualifier, took full advantage of this opportunity by making the top 20 and bringing home the 10th place medal. He ran the 5 kilometer race in 16:51.35. His improvement at the state meet continues. Last year he ran a 17:12 and placed 13th.

Timberline was also represented by sophomore and two time state qualifier Lauren Carr. She placed 37th out of 85 of the best runners in the state. Her time was an impressive 22:28.

She too saw improvement at the state meet. Last year she ran a 23:32 and placed 47th.
