Orofino’s Kaylynn Johnson had 14 points and 10 rebounds as one of Orofino’s five-player team members, helping the Maniacs beat St. Maries in the Idaho 2A District I-II playoffs Saturday, Feb. 8.

The injury-struck Maniacs fought a hard battle with the five-person roster, Grace Beardin and Riley Schwartz saw foul troubles at halftime, so Head Coach Tessa Mullinix used zone play, holding the Lady Lumberjacks to only 11 second-half points. Shayla Shuman, working hard on defense along with her teammates, were able to hold Lady Lumberjack Jenna Holder, a top shooter for St. Maries, to six points.
