Timberline’s Cross Country team started the season off with a bang at the Nezperce Invite on Thursday, Sept. 10.
This course proved to be a challenge with its winding trails and steep hills, but our runners gave it everything they had.
We had eight junior high runners and six high school runners compete. Clayton Hunter placed in the top ten of the junior high boy’s 3,000 meter race with a time of 12:20.5. Ella Beardin (sixth place) and Daisy Nelson (eighth place) also placed in the top ten of the junior high girl’s 3,000 meter race with times of 14:04 and 14:42. In the high school girl’s 5,000 meter race, Lauren Carr placed fifth with a time of 24:49. Carson Sellers placed first in the high school boy’s division with a time of 17:30.
Our runners are constantly working hard to improve themselves and are extremely excited to participate in future invites. Timberline Cross Country’s next meet will be Thursday, Sept. 17, in Troy.
