Timberline’s High School Cross Country runners competed in the District I/II 1A and 2A meet on Thursday, Oct. 22 in Lewiston.
Carson Sellers placed first and is the Boys 2020 District Champion. Jude Nelson placed 16th and qualified for State.
These scores helped our high school boys’ team place third overall, cinching their very first State team berth.
Lauren Carr qualified for State with her 7th place finish as well. Harrison Hill ran for Orofino in the 2A championships and qualified for state.
The State Championships will be held in Pocatello on 30 and 31.
Carson Sellers placed first in the boy’s 5,000-meter race with a time of 16:36 setting a new school record. Jude Nelson placed 16th with a time of 19:12, and Steven Young finished in 18th place with a time of 19:41. Cody Bird placed 37th with a time of 21:56 and Kyd Bonner placed 43rd with a time of 24:34. Lauren Carr was our only high school girl who ran in the girls 5,000-meter race and ran a season’s best time of 22:21.
This is Timberline’s first year to have enough male runners to compete as a team. We are proud to have every one of our athletes qualify for State, and are excited to represent Timberline in Pocatello.
