Tami Shope, 54, of Orofino, died unexpectedly Oct. 20, 2019. Tami (Tamra Lee Stallings) was born on March 10, 1965 in Ventura, CA to Clifton Stallings and Carolyn Founds. The family moved to Athol in 1975.
Mom married our father, Rustie Irby. The family was complete when Jesse and James joined them. From that point on there was never a dull moment. Mom and Dad later divorced.
Mom married Richard Shope. Richard passed away in 2016. Mom never really recovered the loss, and the empty spot in her heart remained.
Mom had a passion that was caring for people. She became a certified nursing assistant. Mom was employed at Clearwater Valley Hospital and Clinic for the past 18 years. Ten of those years she worked with her “pal Hal” Joseph. She was voted employee of the month by her co-workers. Over the years her co-workers became like family to her.
Mom loved animals and over the years would house and animal sit for people who were out of town.
Mom is survived by her sons, Jesse Irby of Deary, James Irby of Clarkston, WA; her grandchildren Ayden, Kyleigh, Hunter and Ridge Irby; her sisters Tina Quarnstrom of Everett, WA, and Terrie Hart of Post Falls; brothers, Charles Stowell of Enterprise AL, and Fred Stowell of Post Falls.
A celebration of life will be held Nov. 16, 3 p.m. at the VFW Hall, 330 Michigan Avenue in Orofino. We ask that you bring your favorite dish to the potluck and come share your stories of our mom.
