Obit Rita Sylvester

Rita Sylvester

Rita Jeanne Sylvester, 89, of Orofino, fell asleep in death January 7, 2020 under the loving and watchful care of family and nursing staff at Clearwater Valley Hospital in Orofino, ID.

Rita was born September 17, 1930 in Norman, OK to Jake and Mary Miller. She was the eldest of four children. Her siblings were Wanna (deceased) and Mary (deceased) and Jerry.

Rita married Wilbur Taylor on August 16, 1947. They had three boys, Irvin (Alida), Larry (Jodie) and George (Theresa).

Later Rita re-married Marvin Sylvester, who had three boys, Richard, David, and Jeffery (Dixie).

Rita was well known for her door to door ministry. She dedicated her life to Jehovah (God’s personal name) and was baptized and ordained as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on May 10, 1961. She loved her ministry work and the hope she brought to others.

Rita especially appreciated the hope of a resurrection held out at John 5:28-29 and the promise of a paradise earth at Rev. 21:3-4.

Rita is survived by her three sons, Irvin, Larry, and George Taylor and her step-sons, Richard and Jeffery Sylvester; fifteen grandchildren and step-grandchildren, as well as numerous great and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

We, her family and friends, look forward to the possibility of seeing Rita again in the Paradise earth where there will be no more death, sorrow or pain.

Until then Rita will be missed.

There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located on Randall Drive, off of Freemont Ave. Orofino, ID (first road west of Barney’s Harvest Foods.)
