Reid K. Mintonye, 73, of Pierce, was born April 24, 1945 in Myrtle Point, OR to Keith and Mary Mintonye. He passed away from cancer April 19, 2019.
Reid graduated from North Bend, OR in 1963.
He was an air traffic controller for the army in Viet Nam.
Reid was an avid outdoorsman and loved 4-wheeling, hunting, fishing, traveling, golfing and community events. He supported the local taverns.
After retiring from Consolidated Freightways he continued to operate a lowboy truck for Finke Logging.
He never met a stranger and lived life to the fullest. He served on the board of directors for White Pine Credit Union for 10+ years.
Reid is preceded in death by his son Craig Edward Keller and his parents Keith and Mary Mintonye.
He is survived by his daughter, Shara Lee Mintonye of Clarkston, WA; brothers, Dee Mintonye of Pierce and Craig Mintonye of Bullhead City, AZ; sisters, Sara Mintonye of Coquille, OR and Ann Mintonye of Coos Bay, OR; grandson, Craig Jr. of Casa Grande, AZ,; stepsons, Sam, Brett and Brian Keller; and many step-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and a brand new great nephew, Chase Reid Dodd.
Services will be held in Pierce at the Pierce Community Center on Friday, April 26 at 1 p.m.
