Jessie Lee Good passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, February 13. She was 89 years old. Jessie truly cared about her loved ones. She is missed greatly by her family and friends.
Jessie was born on December 11, 1931 to parents Roy and Bertha Brown in Ralston, Oklahoma. Jessie was the second oldest child and had many siblings. Jessie grew up in the Great Depression working alongside her family in the cotton fields. After growing up, Jessie had jobs pulling cotton and ironing clothes. She also had a job as a nurse.
Jessie met Carl Dean Good in a cotton field in Texola, Oklahoma. They were married on November 22, 1954. The couple lived in Texola, Oklahoma. Carl had a son, Larry from a previous marriage.
Carl and Jessie moved to Farmington, New Mexico. Carl and Jessie had 3 daughters: Teresa, Carla and Pamela. The family also lived in Erick, Oklahoma; Dumas, Texas and Shamrock, Texas. The family moved to Hoopa, California where Jessie worked as a school custodian. Carl worked as a school bus driver. Jessie also enjoyed cleaning a church in Hoopa. Jessie was a very hard worker.
Jessie and Carl retired and moved to Orofino, Idaho in 1984. They enjoyed fixing up their home and lived there for many years. Jessie enjoyed gardening and had a large garden every year with many different vegetables. Jessie and Carl were active in their church for many years. The church was known at the time as Riverside Faith Chapel. Jessie had a very strong faith in God. Carl and Jessie were married for 58 years.
Jessie was preceded in death, by her husband, Carl; her parents and her siblings (listed as first, middle name): Bobbie Lou, sibling (name unknown), Elma Faye, Jack Dean, Roy Don, Ben Floyd, Peggy and Ray Carroll.
Jessie’s sibling (listed as first, middle name) Billie Olliene was adopted out at birth. Jessie’s sister, Patsy Sue was adopted out at 15 years old. Patsy’s adoptive name is Dorothy Patricia Lewis.
Jessie is survived by her daughters, Teresa Good Davis, Carla Moon and Pamela Good; stepson, Larry Good; her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her siblings (listed as first, middle name): Frank Vernon, Sadie Lorene, and Bonnie Kay.
