James Kenneth Smith, 81, of Hindsville, Arkansas, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord on Friday, September 3, 2021, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born Monday, December 18, 1939 at Purdy to Coy and Opal Phillips Smith. Jim married Edith Mae Smith on Saturday, June 26, 1959, at Orofino, Idaho, and together they were parents to two daughters.
He was a logger for most of his life. Jim was a hard worker, wonderful husband, proud and protective father, and a great brother, grandpa, great grandpa, and “Uncle Jim” to so many. He was a protector and caretaker of his family, and family was always the most important part of his life.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by the love of his life for 62 years, Edith Smith of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Holly and Bob Parker, and Karin and Steve Womack; his brother and sister-in-law, Dorsie and Nevelta Smith; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois and Doyle Horine and Katie and Mike Dennis; his special nephew, Marvin Smith, wife, Rhonda, and family; his grandchildren, Jim Parker, Jessica and Rhett Lance, Coy and Annie Parker, and Ruben and Connie Litterell; and great-grandchildren, Gavin Lance, Brock Lance, Precious Parker, Mae Dean Parker, baby Parker, Tanner Dickson, and Brooklyn Dickson.
Services were held September 9, at Parker Family Cemetery at Wharton Creek, Huntsville, Arkansas.
