Grangemont Road vehicle fire

A juvenile driver escaped uninjured when the vehicle he was driving caught fire, according to a news release from the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).

CCSO received a report at 10:03 p.m. Tuesday night of a car fire near milepost 4.5 on Grangemont Road, Orofino.

When deputies arrived on scene, they found a 2008 Dodge Avenger, upside down and fully engulfed in flames. The vehicle was blocking both lanes of traffic.

According to CCSO, it appeared the vehicle had left the roadway, and then overturned and caught fire.

The driver and sole occupant, a 16-year-old male juvenile, was checked on scene by Clearwater County Ambulance personnel, and released.

No citations have been issued at this time. Orofino Fire Department also responded to the scene.
