At the Library

Junior First LEGO League (Jr. FLL) will begin Tuesday, Feb. 5 and continue until March 19 for grades 1-3. Jr. FLL will be Tuesday after school from 4 to 5. Participants may take the bus to the library after school, with parents/guardians picking them up at the library at 5. You will need to notify the school if your child is participating.

First come, first accepted. This is a team event, each member will be responsible for their part of the project, so regular attendance is needed.

This will be seven weeks of learning and fun! The children will put together a program exploring the theme: “Into Orbit”. Each team will choose a project about space, the galaxy or heating into orbit. They will explore it, create it with LEGOS, and share it at the last meeting with friends and family.

Jenni Tissell, Youth Service Librarian, provided the information on this project and also says, “One thing is very important…I will need volunteers to make this a success. The kids will be broken up into groups, and the volunteers will keep them on track. The volunteers are vital in the process of our schedule.”

You can reach Jenni at 208 435-4058. There is a sign-up sheet and form to complete at the library.

The library also is doing a survey on possible items for loan out to include: kayak, paddleboard, snowshoes and cake pans/cookie cutters. Stop in and take the survey!
