On Saturday, May 2, Ray and Sherry Curnutt, of Pierce, lost their home on Cottonwood Ave due to a fire. They were at their home with some of their grandkids at the time of the fire. Everyone got out safely, but with only the clothes on their backs. The house was a complete loss.

Awe, the holiday season is officially here! For some it’s a time of great joy, and others it’s marred by hurt or loneliness. My heart goes out to all for the latter, know that I’m thinking of you this season and sending you warm wishes and a heartfelt hug.

We had a great time for our Veteran Day Celebration with the food booth and bake food sale. We loved hearing the stories from our Veterans of their war time experiences. We fed them hotdogs with chili and nachos, as much as they could eat, for free.

Halloween is here, come to the Weippe Hilltop Museum on Halloween night from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. to get your special treats, all ages are welcome. Last year we had 75 kids. We are ready for more this year. We are looking forward to seeing all the costumes this year. See you Thursday!

Burrr, its cold outside! Hoping all of you are toasty warm by the fire. Speaking of cold, the homecoming game was freezing. By the end of the game it was a whopping 30 degrees and frost had formed on anything that didn’t have a warm body next to or on it.

The Weippe Hilltop Museum is having a Pumpkin Carving Contest for all ages on Oct. 26. Bring your carved pumpkins to the Museum beginning at noon on Friday until 4 p.m., then again on Saturday at noon until 3 p.m.
