We had a great turnout and beautiful weather for our 2021 season opening at the Weippe Hilltop Museum Heritage Days.  Saturday, June 5, was a fun day starting with the bake food sale, lots of yummy food of all kinds. At our 11 a.m. we opened the food booth with grilled hamburgers and hot dogs with potato salad, chips and drinks. We also had Nacho’s Supreme.  Everyone got their fill and then had a piece of pie from the bake sale.

The Blue Grass Band started entertaining the crowd at 2 p.m. and the games started.

First up was the Egg toss. Sally Marks, President, tossed the eggs to the kids from the balcony. Eggs were going everywhere and kids were scrambling to get an egg filled with cash. Winners were:  Hayley Aeschliman $2, Everly Aeschliman $5, Parker Aeschliman $2. Roslyn Umphenour $4, Gayla Umphenour $6. Piper Dennison $6, Grand prize winner was Gunner Dennison winning $15.

Next up was the water balloon toss game. Kids played first. Parker and Haylee Aeschliman won $5 each (see photo).

Being a hot day Sally threw the first water balloon and hit unsuspecting Cindy Rose. All the adults and kids had a big old fashion water balloon fight. Needless to say Sally got the worst of it as they all ganged up and drowned her.

Next was the Corn Hole Tournament. Several partners teamed up and the competition began with some playoffs.

The winners were Dawn Cloin and Cindy Rose (see photo).

Everyone had a lot of fun. Some went and got another burger or hotdog and continue listening to the band, great way to end the day.

Sunday was the big raffle everyone had been waiting for.

At 2 p.m. sharp the crowd gathered inside the Museum where the tickets were put into the big drum to toss and draw the winning tickets, by Piper Dennison and Tayla Umphenour.
