The weather on June 25 for the annual P.E.O. picnic was sunny and warm. This was a nice change from the cool rainy conditions this area had experienced during the past week.

Hostess Julia Irby reserved the large pavilion at the Pink House Recreation Area near Orofino for the event.

This year she was assisted by Kenda Tribble, Margaret Whitten and Kaye Pruit.

The large covered pavilion provided adequate area for everyone to socialize and then sit down for the pot luck dinner.

After everyone had finished their meal, Merk Cannell and Ted Leach “The Big Guys”, picked up their guitar and tambourine and sang a number of selections from their song book. The last song was very entertaining. It was a great way to end a perfect evening. Thanks, “Guys”.

On this particular evening we had the area all to ourselves. We weren’t even bothered by any flying insects.

Thirteen chapter members brought their husbands which brought the final count up to 29. A number of chapter members were unable to attend this year. They were missed.

The Chapter does not meet during the summer months but on the third Friday of the month we do meet for Lunch Bunch at one of the local restaurants.
