On Jan. 8, at approximately 7:34 a.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a one vehicle injury crash on US12 at milepost 89, near Syringa.

David J. Parris, 27, of Idaho Falls, was driving eastbound on US 12 in a Blue 1987 American Motors Jeep Pickup. According to the report, Parris lost control of the vehicle due to driving too fast for icy conditions.

The vehicle went off the east side of the roadway, over an embankment, and subsequently struck a telephone pole on the drivers side.

Parris was transported by Life Flight to St Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

This is an ongoing investigation.
