A fire started along Idaho Highway 11, Greer Grade, last Wednesday, July 21 at about 5:30 p.m., according to Clearwater-Potlatch Timber Protective Association (C-PTPA). C-PTPA responded along with Weippe, Orofino, Greer, Pierce and Upper Fords fire departments and Idaho Department of Lands personnel and equipment. Air support included four helicopters, air attack and a helitac crew.

The fire was held at approximately five acres and the cause is under investigation, according to C-PTPA. The highway was closed between mile marker 7 and 8 for about 3 1/2 hours, according to Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office.
