Clearwater Tackle and Outdoors owners

Owners Rob and Dina Helmts recently opened Clearwater Tackle and Outdoor at 11250 Hwy. 12. They also operate the U-Haul Neighborhood franchise at the same location.

Add another new business to the list! Clearwater Tackle and Outdoors shop opened their doors Sept. 18, at 11250 Hwy. 12, formerly the site of Camp, Cabin, and Home.

Rob and Dina Helmts have gone to great lengths to create one of the most extensive inventories around for fishing tackle, right down to the live bait! They also carry a good selection of hunting and camping gear at prices comparable to those in Lewiston without having to leave town.

Having moved to Orofino from Tri Cities, WA, the Helmts saw a real need for a place to purchase these things in town.

“We have all the gear,” shares Rob, “for locals and out of towners! We have tents and sleeping bags for the one that was unintentionally left at home.” The shop also carries sweatshirts and T-shirts, gloves for all, with more gear and apparel on the way.

The Helmts anticipate becoming an authorized vendor for hunting and fishing licenses in the near future, as they wait for the state to finalize the process.

Need a U-Haul? They’re now available at Clearwater Tackle and Outdoor.

It should be noted that Dina has been a realtor for the past 13 years and has her office just inside the shop.

So many services all in one place!

Winter hours are 9 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and 9 to 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The official Grand Opening is set for Saturday, Nov. 2, with refreshments and door prizes. Stop in, welcome the Helmts and see all they have for your next fishing hunting or camping trip.
