Last Saturday’s Shindig 3 drew a capacity crowd of supporters to the High Country Inn, and it was a good-natured partying crowd who enjoyed a delicious BBQ dinner, bid generously on almost a dozen homemade pies, appreciated Rosan Monahan’s new band, “Results May Vary,” and complemented the hard working crew of the CMPL Foundation board who pulled this together. Other activities which added to the fun were the Wine Pull, two 50-50 drawings, and a nice selection of silent auction items.

Not only did the board members help pull off another success, but members of the CMPL Friends showed up in forced to be the “slice, dice, and chop” crew on the Friday before the event. This faithful band, consisting of Patti Regear, June Cleveland, and Shelley Long, (we missed Lane Mayer who is recovering from foot surgery but who still found the strength to make two pies!) who joined board members Sandy Love, Vicki Everrett and Jo Moore in the kitchen doing the prep work for the meal.

Total results are not in, but it is figured that over $8,000 will be realized from this one-day event, which helps Phase 3 in a big way. The work on Phase 2 is winding down and will soon be finished, just in time to give a strong start to the next segment to be completed, that of the children’s and young people’s section of the library.
