Breanne Haskins

Breanne Haskins graduates with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Breanne Haskins graduated summa cum laude from the University of New Mexico on May 11. Breanne’s proud parents are Debbie Haskins and Jim Borders of Orofino.

Breanne double majored and received her Bachelor of Science degrees in Biochemistry and Biology with a cumulative grade-point-average of 4.14. She received additional awards for having the highest GPA in her Biochemistry graduating class and received the Outstanding Graduating Senior award in her Biology graduating class.

Breanne has been on the Dean’s list every semester at UNM. Breanne has had two papers published on noncoding RNA. She was a member of Relay for Life, taught STEM to under-privileged children, and won awards for multiple presentations on her research: Regulation of Host Long Noncoding RNA During Toxoplasma gondii Infection during her time at UNM.

This fall Breanne will further her education at the University of Pennsylvania, where she will pursue her Ph.D. in Immunology.

She would like to extend a special thank you to Clint Kennedy, her science teacher at Cascade High School, who developed her love for science. Margarett Fogg Scholarship Committee and Cascade Medical Center Auxiliary for their generous scholarships that assisted her while at UNM.
