Pierce 39th Annual Holiday Bazaar will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Pierce Community Center. There will be 28 tables of local crafters, vendors and artisans with all sorts of fun items to start your holiday shopping. Door prizes will be given out every hour from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Our amazing Soup and Salad Bar Luncheon will be served from 11-1 p.m. We usually have about 40 items on the salad bar to choose from and will have homemade turkey noodle soup to go with it.

Judo will be starting up on Monday, Nov. 5, at 6 p.m. at the Pierce Community Center. We will take signups for the next 2 weeks. Please come a little early so that we may get paperwork signed and kids (or adults) fitted for a Gi. Cost is $35 for beginners and $45 for returning members. The classes will run Monday and Wednesday nights from 6-7 p.m. Shorts or brief style underwear must be worn and girls will need a t-shirt for under the Gi. Bald Mt Ski Hill Will be holding their 5th Annual Ski Sale and Swap along with the 1st Annual Snowmobile Club Swap on Saturday, Nov. 17, 3-8 p.m. at Orofino High School Cafeteria. Skis and Boards, Boots, accessories, Bake Sale, Pre-Season Pass Sale and vote for this year’s T-shirt art by local students. The ski season will be here before we know it! Volunteers are busy getting the ski hill ready for the upcoming season. Saturday work days are happening. If you would like to join in helping, you are always welcome!

Idaho Youth Challenge Academy (IDYCA) Held their Mock Interview Day/Job Fair last week and it was a great success. They even had a tank on site! There were 41 Interview locations, 10 Career Conversation Stations, 22 Organizations Representatives at the Job Fair with 48 Guests presenting. 338 individual interviews were completed! There was a 100% Pass of this Core Component requirement by the Cadets and very positive feedback from those speaking and interviewing. Way to go Cadets!

The Pierce/Weippe Pool League will be starting the first Sunday after New Year’s, so all the captains of the league players, Kathy Dill is requesting signups for your teams and let her know what bar you are playing for be turned in by Dec. 1 so that she can have plenty of time to get the schedule figured out. The weekly pool tournaments are open to the public at Timber Inn. Results for Friday night: Mike Crocker took first 1st, Riley Woods 2nd and Kathy Wilson-Dill 3rd. It was a long but fun night. Good job to all players. On Saturday, the results: Riley Woods was the 1st place winner, Deaf Dave 2nd and James Crocker took 3rd. Another very long night but always lots of fun!

Pierce Community Center and Pool News

UPDATE!! We have had to re-schedule our planned November Skate night. Due to scheduling and other functions we will be picking a date in December for our next skate night. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Festival of Trees will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, 5:30-8 p.m.

The Center will be open from 3-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 1-6 p.m. on Fridays unless we have skating or an event planned. On Monday and Wednesday’s from 5:30-6:30 we have Yoga classes. We will also have Junior High Boys Basketball practices happening after school starting Oct. 29, so if you have a meeting, event or party you would like to plan please call ahead for scheduling.
