POOL UPDATE!

We have had to push the opening of the pool to Monday, June 10! Very sorry for the change in scheduling but just making sure we are completely ready. Monday will be a FREE SWIM DAY for all sessions. We will offer Adult Lap Swim (M-F) from 6 a.m.-8 a.m.(doors lock at 7:30 a.m.) Open Swim (M-F) 1-4 p.m. and Evening Swim on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Cost to swim is still just $2.50 for kids ages 6-12 and $3 for those 13 and over.

Children five and under are free but MUST be accompanied by a paying ADULT (not teenage siblings). You may also purchase summer passes. Lap Swim Pass, $60, Childs Pass (6-12) $50 (13 and over) $55. Family of four Pass, $100 + $15 per each additional family member.

The Pierce Pool will be offering Swim Lessons the last two weeks of June (Monday-Friday) the 17-28. Lessons will be $50 for one week or $70 for the two weeks. There is a 25% discount off of multiple siblings. Lessons are half an hour each day. If you live in the Weippe Recreation District please look for the sign up at either Timberline Schools or the Discovery Center for FREE Swim and half price Swim Lessons!

You must be verified as living in the district and on the list to qualify. And if you have signed up on the Weippe list, you must still call the Pierce Community Center to sign up for Swim Lessons! Please call (208)464-2443 to get on the list and for more information.

Deer Creek Fishing Derby!

This Saturday, June 8 from 6 a.m. - 2 p.m. with final weigh-in at 2:30 pm! This is Idaho FREE Fishing Day! So even if you have not bought your license yet, you can still come and fish (All Idaho Fish and Game rules apply).

Cost to enter the Derby is $20 for those 13 years of age and older with first prize of $400, second prize $200 and third prize of $100. Idaho Central Credit Union (ICCU) has generously donated the prize money for our winners again this year. Kids 12 and under are free and have their own set of prizes from Idaho Fish & Game. Fish & Game also has a few poles and tackle for those that may not have a pole to use.

This is a six fish limit tournament with combined aggregate weight. There is also a prize for the longest fish! We will have an RTIC Cooler filled with goodies to raffle of along with other raffle items, t-shirts, koozies and Miss Susan will be grilling up those yummy burgers again this year! $8 for a burger, chips and a drink. Vacation Bible School;

100th Birthday Celebration!

The Pierce Library is 100 years old this year and to celebrate we are having “Six days of fun” during the week of June 17-22nd. This is sponsored by ICCU and Studio 205. Every day that week there will be an activity.

The Pierce/Weippe Atv Trailriders Next Meeting is Friday, June 14 at 5 p.m. at Miss Lilly’s Gold Rush Saloon. Please tell all club members or people that want to become club members. Lots of things to talk about and we need help setting up the rides. Next ride is June 29, let’s make this another big turnout!

Idaho Youth Challenge Academy (IDYCA) Graduation will be held in Boise on Saturday, June 15! If you see the Cadets out and about, be sure and congratulate them on their hard work and achievements.

Letters of encouragement are always welcome and they will be passed on to those cadets that may not receive mail from home. 1860 Days! The committee is working hard and getting things planned for this year’s Annual 1860 Days celebration which will be held the first weekend in August, 2 - 4. If you would like to get involved or be a vendor please contact a committee member or call Pierce Community Center (208)464-2443.

Summer time change! Tournaments are held on Thursday night 6:30 p.m. at Miss Lily’s Gold Rush Saloon, Friday Night, 6:30 p.m. at The Flame and Saturday Night, 6:30 p.m. at The Timber Inn. Thursday, 5/30 results; John Jared first place, Clay Hosley second and Kathy Wilson-Dill third. Thanks for playing everyone. We had a great time at Miss Lily’s. Friday, 5/31; Carlyle Cahala first place, James Crocker second and George Shoup was third. Another night of fun and laughs at the Flame! Saturday, 6/1; Kathy Wilson-Dill first place, James Crocker second and Mike Crocker took third. A nice group of ten were there to have some fun and we did.
