Nez Perce Clearwater National Hiring

The Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests is excited to offer several upcoming permanent and seasonal job opportunities for those interested in working on the forest’s unique and dynamic fire program.

The Forest Service is currently accepting applications for seasonal employees to work in the agency’s Northern Region, which includes North Idaho, Montana, and parts of the Dakotas, during the 2021 summer fire season. In addition to the current hiring opportunity for next year’s seasonal workforce, the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests is currently and continuously hiring for a variety of Permanent–Full Time and Permanent–Seasonal positions within the forest’s fire program. There are two types of positions being advertised: Open Continuous Register and Single Vacancy – Fire Hire Event positions. Open Continuous Register announcements allow hiring managers to fill positions from an open register and have variable dates when referral lists will be pulled. For these positions, hiring timelines vary as eligibility and qualifications are verified as vacancies become available in certain locations and for certain positions. The Single Vacancy – Fire Hire Event positions have a fixed application period and more predictable hiring timelines. This year, Single Vacancy – Fire Hire Event positions will be advertised and accepting applications from Oct. 26 through Nov. 13.
