Road maintenance work on Forest Service Road #447, also known as the Palouse River Road, will cause delays for some travelers visiting the Palouse Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests starting next week.

Beginning Wednesday, May 29, contractors will be working on culvert replacement on the Palouse River Road. Delays of up to four hours are possible between Laird Park and the junction with Forest Service Road #767. This work is scheduled to take place on weekdays only from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.; no delays are anticipated on evenings or weekends. Travelers should be prepared for longer travel times through this area and may consult their forest visitor map for alternate routes to their destination.

Crews expect work on the Palouse River Road to last until late June. For more information, please contact the Palouse Ranger District office at (208) 875-1131.
