Dear Editor:

A public meeting is being held at the local Orofino High School gym on Saturday, Dec. 15, at 9:30 a.m. The locally based group (NIWF) is headed back to Boise in January to try and convince Idaho F&G Commissioners to once again shorten the extremely long whitetail deer season. The group deflected all negative feedback and successfully shortened the 2018 season by 11 days and eliminated the used of second deer tags.

The action taken by F&G Commissioners was approved for the 2018 season and needs to be reinstated to continue a positive step towards rebuilding our ravaged deer herds in Unit 10A. Several new “social” opinion surveys have been conducted by F&G. They have concluded that a very large majority of hunters are totally satisfied with everything the Department is currently doing and seem to be “perplexed” why a small gourp disagrees with this conclusion.

Our group is asking for your support to help sustain us in this long, uphill “interaction” with Idaho F&G. Please turn up on Saturday and we will update you on several new findings. Hope to see everyone turn out.

Bill Samuels,

Northern Idaho Whitetails Forever (Secretary)

Orofino
