Dear Editor:

My name is Savannah Crockett and I am nine years old. On Saturday I attended the Safe Routes to School Bike Rodeo at the city park. This was a fun activity where I got to take a sugar quiz, do an obstacle course, and get a new helmet. Once I completed those things my name was put in a drawing to win a brand new bike.

Thanks to my luck I won one of the bikes!!! I love riding my new bike and love the new experience with my seven-speed mountain bike.

While I was there Fire Chief Hoyt adjusted my bike seat so I could ride my bike better. Officer Frazier taught me bike safety such as hand signals. Chris St. Germaine got me a new helmet and taught me about sugar in foods. Thank you to everyone who helped me. Thanks to Chris St. Germaine and Jordyn Howell for planning this event and everyone else who volunteered.  It was a great learning experience.

Sincerely,

Savannah Crockett
