Make a plan to vote in the midterm election.
Your vote is a privilege and a responsibility.
Know your precinct name and number.
If you need to register and then vote, you may do so on Nov. 8. You need your identification and residency paperwork lined up.
To register to vote: you appear in person at your precinct polling place or the County Clerk’s Office on November 8th, fill out the voter registration card, provide proof of residence within your precinct dated at least 30 days prior to election day, and show your Idaho photo ID or Idaho driver’s license. Valid IDs may also include school photo IDs, military photo IDs, or a United States passport with your photo. If you are missing ID, you may fill out an affidavit to swear to your identity.
If you are a registered voter, Friday, October 28th, 2022, is the last day to request a form for an absentee ballot, fill it out, and return it for a vote-by-mail ballot. Your request may be made at the County Clerk’s office or online at idahovotes.gov. After you receive and fill out your ballot, there are several ways to return your vote-by-mail ballot.
1) There is a secure ballot drop box on the back walkway into the courthouse.
2) You can hand your completed ballot in its secure envelope to a Clearwater County Clerk staff member.
3) You can return your ballot in the mail. The postage has been paid if you are in a vote-by-mail precincts which are #6 Fraser, #7 Greer, #10 Dent/Headquarters, #13 Elk River, and #14 Grangemont. If you are not in those precincts, put $1.44 postage on the large envelope to mail it to the Clerk’s office.
If you are in a vote-by-mail precinct and are not registered to vote, plan to go to the County Clerk’s office to register and vote on November 8th from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The last day to pre-register prior to vote in this election has already passed.
Another option, if you are registered to vote, you may go to the County Clerk’s office and vote early, from now until Friday, November 4th, at 5 p.m.
Make a plan and participate in the election.
It’s no time to sit on the bench!
