Dear Editor:

On Aug. 21, I had a terrible accident where my tractor rolled over near our home outside of Orofino. Fortunately, my neighbors (Dave and Nancy) heard my calls for help and telephoned Orofino emergency services. Members from Clearwater County Ambulance and Orofino Fire Department quickly responded and transported me to Clearwater Valley Hospital.

Though I cannot remember much while at the hospital, I do recall a very nice nurse, who happened to be a fan of the Miami Dolphins, give me a button with the team’s logo as a sign of support. Sometime later that day, I was airlifted to Sacred Heart hospital in Spokane where I spent 26 days before being discharged to home.

I have a long way to go using rehab but to my neighbors and the ambulance and fire department staffs, I want to express a heartfelt gratitude from me and my family. Without your excellent service and dedication, it is doubtful whether I would have survived such a terrible accident. Thank you to everyone.

Charles Edwards,
