In the city council article published by the Clearwater Tribune on May 5, entitled “City focuses on a busy season…” it should be noted Crystal Gamble did not claim to represent Babe Ruth Baseball. It was inferred based on the scenario.

Gamble never stated the team couldn’t use the High School field. When specifically asked why they didn’t, she simply replied that was another issue.

Council member Josh Tilley, as a board member on the Babe Ruth team shared some insights to the reasons the team hadn’t utilized the field yet. It was explained that the Babe Ruth team would need to practice around the practice times of the high school. It was not stated that the Babe Ruth team couldn’t use the field.

Gamble stressed that her ultimate goal was always to provide fair access to all programs.
