Rotary District Governor Lynn O’Connor paid a visit to our regular club meeting via Zoom on Oct. 8. Other exciting news taking place that day included the induction of high school members to the Orofino Maniac Interact Club.
The Board approved new members Cathy Judge and Cindy Wines at the board member meeting Oct. 6. We currently have 35 active members, four affiliate members, six honorary members, 45 members total.
We received correspondence from the District regarding an online new member orientation presentation on Oct. 28. The link has been sent to all club members.
Planning for the Dec.17 Club Christmas Party continues.
Charlie Nation is willing to donate the portable PA sound system to the club. James will coordinate with him.
The Orofino Rotary Club Fun Run was a success. Belinda, Teri and John will provide the board with a full accounting of revenue and expenses once they are finalized.
Work on installing a new fence around the Andy Arvish Park near Les Schwab should commence within the next few weeks.
Some additional work may need to be done on the Elementary School Steps Project. James and Mike will evaluate it.
Annie Lozar is working on the required background checks for our members who work with youth.
Oct. 15, - Our regular Friday noon meeting will be held at the Ponderosa and via Zoom. Speaker will be Carrie Bird, Clearwater County Clerk/Auditor/Recorder, speaking on the elections process, including our role in setting up the equipment.
Oct. 16, - Highway 7 Cleanup at 8 a.m. We will meet at the large paved turnout between Orofino and Ahsahka. Safety vests, trash grabbers, and trash bags will be provided.
Oct. 20, - Board Meeting at the Ponderosa at 7 a.m. All members are welcome.
Oct. 22, - Our regular Friday noon meeting will be held at the Ponderosa and via Zoom. Speaker is Tuck Miller of Revolusun on the future of energy and solar storage.
Oct. 29, - Fifth Friday. No meeting.
