At the last monthly meeting of the Clearwater Valley Fire District Auxiliary (CVFDA), President Pam White tendered her resignation for personal reasons and the auxiliary thanked Pam for all of her hard work in getting the CVFDA off to a great start.

The auxiliary then elected Cheryl Jones to take over the office of President. Cheryl is very familiar with the needs of our area fire districts and firemen as she is married to Orofino Assistant Fire Chief Bart Jones.

At last week’s board meeting it was determined that, with Cheryl’s job at Orofino High School, the monthly meeting time would have to be changed from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., hence the next monthly meeting of CVFDA is this coming Thursday, Jan. 6 at 4:30 p.m. at the Fiesta En Jalisco Mexican Restaurant in Orofino.

Don’t forget about CVFDA’s current fundraising drawing for some great prizes with the drawing to take place at the March 3 CVFDA meeting. Tickets are $1 each, or six for $5, and are available for purchase at P1FCU, LCCU, Banner Bank and the Clearwater Memorial Public Library. Also keep your eyes open for some exciting happenings and events occurring with CVFDA in the near future.

CVFDA holds its monthly meeting the first Thursday of each month at 4:30 p.m. at the Fiesta En Jalisco Mexican Restaurant and everyone is welcome. We are always looking for and welcoming new members in our ongoing quest to support our firefighters and fire victims. Also don’t forget your donations may always be sent to CVFDA at P.O. Box 8, Orofino, ID 83544.

The mission of the CVFDA is to provide support, promote and aid for all the fire districts of the Clearwater Valley by engaging in fundraising activities which enable financial distribution to the fire districts helping with much needed equipment purchases. CVFDA is also available during fire incidents to help supply food and beverages for the crews as they battle our area wild-land and structure fires along with supporting area fire victims in their immediate time of need.
