On the weekend of May 13, the United States Post Office conducted a Stamping Out Hunger food drive in the Orofino area. From the effort, Lifeline Food Pantry received bag after bag filled with canned goods and boxed items which helped to fill the shelves at the pantry.
These donations, added to those items purchased and those received in partnership with the Idaho Food Bank, will be used to feed the hungry in this area. The Lifeline Board thanks the USPS and everyone who gave.
Lifeline, located at 2170 Carney Drive Unit G, exists to provide for the food insecure living in its service area, which includes Orofino, Peck, Lenore, Ahsahka, and Greer.
Those who need assistance may visit during normal operating hours, Monday evenings from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and Friday mornings from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Households may receive help once every 14 days. While verification of financial need is not required, all adults should be prepared to provide proof of residency.
In April, Lifeline fed 240 households with a total of 591 people living in them. If you are interested in aiding in this effort to help the hungry, visit anytime the pantry is open or contact director Bob Stiffler at 208-476-9044.
Lifeline is a 501(c)(3) organization supported solely through donations. Most gifts are tax deductible.
