Well if you missed Bingo Friday, you missed a lot of fun, plus a fun fundraiser to cover costs that we don’t know about yet, with the New Walk-In Freezer! We required an extra freezer, because the walk-in was not reliable.
So Bingo night will be the third Friday, not more than 1 ½ hours long, but lots of fun. It costs only $1 per card and everyone is invited to come at 12:45, or if you you can, come early and join us for lunch.
On Jan. 27 we will be making Valentine’s Day gifts that can be purchased, in time for those who purchase items to make their deliveries on Valentine’s Day. We will have pictures of the items on Facebook. Items should be ready for next week. There should be lots of wonderful baked goods, and Valentine’s gifts for sale on Feb. 11, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. More information about the Valentine’s Gift and Bake Sale in the next few weeks.
The kitchen outdid themselves this last week with wonderful, large meals. Wanda is known for her beautiful loaves of bread, rolls, and of course, cinnamon rolls, but she is a wonder when putting together a healthy meal that meets all the dietary standards for the Senior Meal Site.
We are indeed blessed to have her as the head cook, but of course she could not do it all without all her helpers and volunteers. We are including all that come in and put together the meals for home delivery, and the drivers who deliver and visit each Tuesday and Friday, it is amazing how Orofino rallies to help when needed.
Special thank you to KLER, the Clearwater Tribune, Clearwater Canyon Pharmacy and Brookside Senior Center for keeping our menus announced on radio and published in the paper.
For rides on the Senior Bus to the Meal Site call 208-553-1118. Deryl also said he would be happy with two trips if we have to so everyone can get safely to meals and home. Thanks Deryl for allowing two runs so everyone can make it to eat and play Bingo.
