As announced in last week’s papers, the CMPL Foundation is well on its way to raising the needed monies to pay for Phase 4 of the library expansion, but there is still a balance of about $60,000 to meet this goal. And lest we get ahead of ourselves in our enthusiasm, there will be many furnishings and needs to acquire for both the expansion and remodeled old building, before the project can become a reality.
It is hoped that members of our community will rally behind the need for specific furnishings, shelving, decorative amenities etc., to help make the “new” library a welcoming and well-designed building to accommodate patrons of all ages and needs. Our supporters and patrons will have an opportunity to gift Clearwater Memorial Public Library with specific needs which will then bear their names in a special location within the library as the donors.
A list of needs will be drawn up in the near future which will note specific items which will not be covered in the various phases of the library expansion project. Any benefactors who are reading this column are invited to contact either Jo Moore, Foundation Chair, Cleo Castellanos, Library Director, or any member of the Foundation board to express a wish to be a private donor as we approach the end of this exciting project to make the Clearwater Memorial Public Library the brightest new gem in our community!
