Do you know the devil tries to be like Jesus? The Bible says, “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High” Isaiah14:12-14KJV).
It all began when he was in heaven, rebelled against God and was cast out by Jesus.
The Bible says, “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him” (Revelation12:7-9KJV).
Ever since then, he does everything he can to steal souls to himself. Jesus is the Lamb of God (John1:29, 36KJV) and He came to seek and save the lost (Luke19:10KJV).
The devil is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour (1Peter5:8KJV).
Jesus is the Good Shepherd who is the door and His sheep enter in and follow Him (John10:1-7KJV). The devil is a thief who comes to steal and kill and destroy (John10:10KJV).
Jesus tells us to set no wicked thing before our eyes (Ps101:3KJV); to be temperate in all things (1Corinthians9:25KJV) and to be humble (James4:10KJV).
The devil draws us with the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life (1John2:16KJV).
Friends, we have two choices. One requires self-denial (Matthew16:24-27KJV) and one self-indulgence (2Timothy3:1-5KJV).
One is a narrow way that leads to life and the other is a broad way that leads to death and destruction (Matthew7:13-14KJV). The choice is ours and we must decide.
