Do you know your first God given right (Part 1)?
When God created man, He gave him the right to choose. He made every herb and fruit trees for man to eat (Genesis 1:29 KJV).
And in the Garden, He also put the “tree of life… and the tree of knowledge of good and evil” (Genesis 2:9 KJV). “And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” (Genesis 2:16-17 KJV).
God gave man the right to choose and plainly told Adam the result of making the right choice and the wrong choice. The right choice means life but the wrong choice means death.
Well, Adam made the wrong choice, but he did not die immediately. Why? Because God and Jesus had a plan and it’s called the plan of redemption which was made before the world was created where Jesus decided that He would bear man’s guilt if he should fall.
The Bible says, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” (John 1:29 KJV).
And this Lamb is called “the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Revelation 13:8 KJV). Jesus, the Son of God, would bear the curse of sin and death that was pronounced upon man and the earth because of the transgression of God’s Holy Law. (Genesis 3:14-19 KJV).
However, within the curse, God pronounced the promise of hope and of pardon that would come through Jesus Christ, “the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world,” when He said, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel” (Genesis 3:15 KJV).
This promise was fulfilled when Jesus lived a perfect life (Hebrews 4:15), became the curse of the Law (Galatians 3:13 KJV). He died, resurrected and ascended to the Right Hand of God (Acts 2:23-33 KJV) and ministers in the heavenly sanctuary on our behalf (Hebrews 8:1-2 KJV).
And do you know that we still have the right to choose?
