Do you know what the worst thing we can ever do is?

Jesus said, “Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation” (Mark3:28-29 KJV).

Jesus says that the only sin that cannot be forgiven is blaspheming the Holy Ghost.

Why? Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John14:6KJV) and the Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth (John16:13 KJV). So, the only way to the Father is through the Son to whom the Holy Spirit leads us.

In addition, Jesus is the Truth (John16:13KJV) and the Bible says, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth” (John17:17KJV).

It is Jesus, the Word (John1:1-4KJV), through His Word, who reveals Himself and the Father to us and it is the Holy Spirit who leads us to Jesus.

Another reason is that the Holy Spirit helps us to realize our need of a Saviour.

While Jesus walked this earth many people were led to Him, by the Holy Spirit, for physical or spiritual healing. Some were healed both ways.

In the same way, when we recognize our need for physical and/or spiritual healing, Jesus sees our faith and is ready to say, “thy sins are forgiven thee” (Luke5:20KJV), “go, and sin no more” (John8:11 KJV).

His sanctifying influence and the Holy Spirit working in us will make us overcomers (Phillipians4:13 KJV; Revelation3:21KJV).

Jesus comforted many people during His earthly ministry. He said He had to leave, but He would send another Comforter (John16:7KJV), and that the Comforter would testify of Him (John15:26KJV).

So, the Holy Spirit comes to each of us individually, to draw us to Christ, to guide us in our sanctified walk, to reveal and help us overcome our sins and grow our faith and belief in Jesus. Thus, He comforts us. To reject the Holy Spirit and His Work, is the same as rejecting Jesus.
