Do you know that the fall of Babylon is still in the near future (Part four)? The Bible says, “And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication” (Revelation14:8KJV).

So far we have studied and found that in the Bible, Babylon represents false worship or anything or anyone that tries to stand in the place of God and that wine represents false doctrine which comes from man and not from God. Also, that we commit spiritual fornication by worshipping anything (food, money, clothes, cars, work, images, etc.) in place of God.

So what is “…the wrath…” that comes because of Babylon’s wine of her fornication? The last part of the second commandment against images says, “…for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; and showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments” (Exodus20:5-6KJV).

So worshipping anything or anyone other than our Creator God will result in His wrath. The Bible says of those who receive the mark of the beast, “The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation…” (Revelation14:10KJV).

Then the Bible say, “And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth” (Revelation16:1KJV). So the wrath of God is the seven last plagues.

Does God want us to suffer from these plagues? The Bible says, “Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD’S vengeance; he will render unto her a recompense” (Jeremiah51:6KJV). Jesus is pleading with us to get out of Babylon while there is still time. Next week the conclusion.
