Do you know why angels were expelled from heaven? The Bible says, “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels. And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him” (Revelation12:7-9KJV).
The devil and his angels did not want to work harmoniously with God. Instead, they wanted to be exalted. Lucifer led the rebellion because he wanted to be like God, and sit as God on God’s throne (Isaiah14:13-14KJV).
The Bible says, “Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee” (Ezekiel28:17KJV). He became prideful of his appearance and intelligence. He did not acknowledge that these gifts came from God and were not his own and ultimately rejected and resented Jesus.
This is a lesson from which we can all learn. We all owe everything we have to God and when we realize this we “shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind” (Matthew22:37KJV) which will make us “wise unto salvation” (2Timothy3:15KJV). We will do His will and be “the light of the world” (Matthew5:14KJV) and His glory will be seen in us because we recognize and fear God and serve Him.
The Bible says, “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” (Romans6:16).
When we are baptized, we solemnly pledge ourselves to a life of obedience and to clothe ourselves with Christ’s righteousness and our lives become a living example of our Lord Jesus Christ. To be continued…
