This week’s Orofino Chamber weekly shout out goes to one of our newest members: The Oddfellows/Rebekah Bluebell #72 Lodge.

Mayze Daniels and Bernice Pullen (Rebekah Daughters) will be the guest speakers at our March 1 chamber general membership Meeting held at the Ponderosa Restaurant at 12 noon.

It will also be our 1st quarterly night meeting (6 p.m. at the Ponderosa Restaurant) for those chamber members that may not be able to make the once a month noon meeting. Come find out what their plans are for the Rebekah Lodge building on Johnson Ave.

The Daughters of Rebekah, also known as the Rebekahs and the International Association of Rebekah Assemblies, is an international service-oriented organization and a branch of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

The Rebekah Lodges were founded on Sept. 20, 1851, when, after considerable debate, the Sovereign Grand Lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows voted to adopt the Rebekah Degree, largely due to the efforts of an Odd Fellow named Schuyler Colfax.

Chamber members, mark your calendars for our first quarterly night meeting on Wednesday, March 1, at 6 p.m., for the chamber welcoming of our newest members: the Oddfellows/Rebekah Bluebell #72 Lodge and Bark Avenue Pet Grooming Salon & Boarding.
