NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That pursuant to a resolution of the Nez Perce Joint School District No. 302 Lewis, Idaho and Clearwater Counties and Whitepine Joint School District No. 288, Latah & Clearwater Counties will conduct a consolidated election for the following taxing districts and for the following purposes:
Nez Perce Joint School District No. 302 – Supplemental Levy Election - $445,000 per year for one (1) year, for the purpose of paying all lawful expenses of maintaining and operating the District, as further described in the form of ballot question set forth in Section 3 herein, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023, and ending June 30, 2024.
Whitepine Joint School District No. 288 – Supplemental Levy Election - $880,000 per year for one (1) year, commencing with the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2024, for the purpose of financing any lawful expenses of maintaining and operating the District; all as provided in the Resolution adopted by the Board of Trustees on March 6, 2023
The election will be held on Tuesday, May 16th, 2023, at which day the polls will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the following designated Clearwater County polling place:

In-person absentee voting for this election is available through May 10th, 2023, until 5:00 pm, at the Clearwater County Courthouse, 150 Michigan Avenue, Orofino, Idaho. The last day for an application for a mail-in absentee ballot to be received by the County Clerk is May 5th, 2023 by 5:00 pm. May 16th, 2023 is the last day for mailed absentee ballots to be returned to the County Clerk no later than 8:00 pm.
This is a special designated Vote by Mail Precinct for those qualified electors residing within the Nez Perce Joint School District No. 302 in Clearwater. For this election if you are not currently registered to vote you will need to register and vote at the same time. Your Election Day registration location for Clearwater County is the Clearwater County Courthouse, 150 Michigan Avenue, Orofino, Idaho in the Auditor/Recorder’s Office.
All ballots must be received by the County Clerk no later than 8:00 pm on May 16th, 2023, in order to be counted.
Notice is further given that in accordance with the Help America Vote Act of 2002, each of the polling places is accessible to individuals with disabilities.

The Board of Trustees of Joint School District No. 302, Lewis, Clearwater and Idaho Counties, State of Idaho, is seeking authorization to levy a Supplemental Levy for the following purposes and approximate amount of levy funds to be allocated to each use:

Curriculum and Supplies $ 35,000.00
Utilities and Heating Fuel $ 75,000.00
Maintenance and Transportation $95,000.00

QUESTION: Shall the Board of Trustees of Joint School District No. 302, Lewis, Clearwater and Idaho Counties, State of Idaho, be authorized and empowered to levy a Supplemental Levy in the amount of Four Hundred Forty Five Thousand Dollars ($445,000) per year for one (1) year, commencing with the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2024, for the purposes stated above; all as provided in the Resolution adopted by the Board of Trustees on March 13, 2023?
The estimated average annual cost to the taxpayer on the proposed levy is a tax of $281 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value, per year, based on current conditions. The proposed levy replaces one existing levy that expires on June 30, 2023 and that currently costs a combined $281 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value. If the proposed levy is approved, the tax per $100,000 of taxable assessed value is not expected to change.

Shall the Board of Trustees of School District No. 288, Latah & Clearwater Counties, State of Idaho, be authorized and empowered to levy a Supplemental Levy in the amount of Eight Hundred Eighty Thousand dollars ($880,000) per one (1) year, commencing with the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023 and ending June 30, 2024, for the purpose of financing any lawful expenses of maintaining and operating the District; all as provided in the Resolution adopted by the Board of Trustees on March 6, 2023.
The estimated average annual cost to the taxpayer on the proposed levy is a tax of $288.10 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value, per year, based on current conditions. The proposed levy replaces an existing levy that will expire on June 30, 2023, and that currently costs $364.00 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value. If the proposed levy is approved, the tax per $100,000 of taxable assessed value is expected to decrease the tax by $75.90 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value.
The expiration date of the District’s current levy is June 30, 2023.
