“Remembering the flood of 1964” continues
This second installment of our 50-year commemoration of the flood of 1964 was published in this week's issue, June 12, on page 3B.
Sally Shawley, a long-time resident of Clearwater County, shared memories and pictures of what she recalls. Living outside of town, not far from Highway 12, Shawley saw the river rise high enough to completely engulf Highway 12.
Morris Hardman, another long-time resident, shared several photographs of a very flooded downtown Orofino. To see these, and read Shawley's story, click on the page below.
