Orofino Show & Shine, Orofino car show in July

This 1956 Chevy Tow Truck, owned by Jack and Morleen Flerchinger, Clarkston, was a big hit at this year’s Show & Shine.

Dick and Joyce Wallace, Lewiston, with their 1970 Ford Mustang Convertible and Don and Sharon Wester, Clarkston, with their 1967 Chevy Camaro Convertible. This was the first year the Camaro was manufactured.

On their way to participate in last Friday's Show & Shine Dam Cruz at 3 p.m. in Orofino City Park, Bev and Kyle Latham stopped by the Clearwater Tribune to share some fun information about their 1958 Chevy Impala. The car won second runner up in the custom modified cars category at the "Lost in the 50's" car show in Sandpoint on May 21. There were approximately 585 cars in the show. Entertainment included a large dance, as well as a separate show with an Elvis impersonator and an even better Jerry Lee Lewis impersonator, along with other great acts. "What a surprise to win an award at that show!" said Bev.

Albert Sample, French Town, MT, with his 1968 Mercury Cougar XR7 at the 8^th annual Orofino Show & Shine held Saturday in the Orofino City Park.

This 1955 Ford F-100 is owned by Lyall (shown in photo) and Connie Kindelspire, Waitsburg, WA. This is the 5^th year the truck has been entered in the Orofino Show & Shine.

This pink Jeep, owned by Robin and Ron Bielenberg, Palouse, WA, was a popular entry at the Orofino Show & Shine.

The Top 10 award winners for this year’s Orofino Show & Shine were Randy and Sally Foster, Bill Purdy, Jim Bluhm, Dick Carlton, Lloyd and Kathy Bruce, Dave Piper, Marian and Duane Orcutt, Bill Tolle, Bert Obenland and Terry Thompson.

Mayor’s Choice award went to Larry Bays, Corvallis, MT, for his 1949 Blue Chevy Pickup. City of Orofino Mayor Ryan Smathers presented the award.

People’s Choice award went to Rob Hardy, College Place, WA, for his 1925 Dodge Four Door Sedan Street Rod. The award was presented by committee member Kathy Waldron.

Jeremy Bowen was presented the Best Motorcycle award by Show & Shine committee member Clay Hesson of Valley Motor Parts.

The Best of Show award was won by Burch Roark for his Baker Electric Coupe. Presenting the award is committee member Josh Huffaker.
