Weippe City Council met last Monday. From the meeting minutes: Discussion was held on the feasibility of rebuilding old fire hydrants, for spares that have been replaced with new ones. Currently there is one new 4 ft. hydrant on hand. Parts are nearly impossible to obtain for the old ones and the cost is high. Council will order another new 6 ft. hydrant to have on man. Mike soon will complete flushing of the fire hydrants.

Mayor Steadman has been in contact with Keven Shreeve regarding application of a Energy Block Grant to replace lagoon aerators, well pumps, city hall improvements and new heating system for equipment shop.

Council received correspondence from Suddenlink of a price increase for cable service.

Permit Approval Notice from the Dept. of Water Resources was received on the big well permit. The permit is a preliminary order and will become final unless a party petitions it within the next 14 days. The city must now submit “Proof of Beneficial Use” to develop the permit into a licensed water right.
