Plus Five Workgroup meeting
The Plus Five Workgroup met on Monday evening, Nov. 9 to examine trends in Clearwater County and Joint School District No. 171 with the goal of making recommendations to the School Board as to what steps should be taken to prepare for the 2014-15 school year.
At Monday’s meeting, the workgroup examined data about population, labor force, per capita income, academics, school district finances, timber replacement funds, school enrollment, student attendance, facilities, district property, etc. Many of the documents presented are posted on the district website at www.sd171.k12.id.us.
The workgroup consists of about thirty educators, parents, patrons, and students. Participants in the meeting included Doug Adams, Alyce Arnsberg, Chris Bennett, Dale Durkee, Don Ebert, Tim Gering, Theresa Graber, Danielle Hardy, Darlyn Lanier, Sandra Lawrence, Heather Leach, Jerry Nelsen, Cary Newman, Lu Olive, Shannon Osborn, Pat Rayner, Bob Reggear, Chris St. Germaine, Scott Schochler, John Schwartz, Jerry Uhling, and Skip Wilson. Members who were not able to attend the meeting on Nov. 9 included Dave Daniels, Amy Jared, Mitch Jared, Ashley Schrader, Ryan Smathers, John Vaage and Jonathan Walker.
Workgroup meetings are scheduled for Monday, Nov. 23 and Monday, Dec. 7. The meetings will be held at School District Office from 6-8 p.m. Meetings are open to the public.
