   Demolition of the old Nadl Enterprises Building has been going on this week. A new facility for the Bank of Latah will soon be built on the site.

   Orofino City Council has put Phase II of the water system improvements on hold for a year due to the economic condition of the area. Orofino with the rest of Clearwater County is experiencing double degit unemployment. There are also several vacant buildings and they have several delinquent payments. Even with a grant for $5 million, water rates would increase substantially with Phase II.

   Timberline Spartan football players are Jesse Kimball, Jake Cahill, Porter Lacey, Jesse Daniels, Joe Lutes, Dan Codner, Lucas Tilley, Pat Chistophenson, Dave Sayers, Keith Keating, Austin Karn, Kyle Kinard, James Codner, Carl Erickson, Drew Stewart, Isaac McIntosh, Dustin Rogers, Nick Smith, Dallas Fortilla, Justin Stedman, Joe Walker, Wade Medley, Nathan Miller, Shane Moore and Ryan Medley.

   Cheering the Spartans on will be cheerleaders Randi Dawn Thrall, Ashley Weeks, Rachel Griffith, Katie Robison, Danielle Gauther, Michelle Griffith, Katrina Larson, Eva Montambo and Angie Genn.

   Clearwater areas 55-day drought ended when general rains brought up to 60 inches of rain and eased the watch on what has been a 123-day fire season.

   Councilman Bob Adams and Mayor Roy Clay said Orofino fire insurance ratings will be improved if the council approves plans for a new Orofino West Fire Station.

   Timberline High School Homecoming Royalty includes Queen Debbie Dahl and Princesses Carla Swift, Gayle Reynolds and Sonya Hyde.

   Junior Miss Candidates from Orofino are Greta Anderson, Vickie Bray, Beverly Reber, Shelly Hutchinson, Barbara Shrader and Jenifer Worthen.

   Telegraph lines from Orofino, Lenore, Kamiah and Kooskia to Lewiston have been replaced by telephone service, but are still being handled by Camas Prairie Railroad agents. A new teletype printer has been installed at the Orofino Depot.

   Remodeling of the General Telephone Company’s Central Office at Orofino is in progress. Equipment and arrangements and remodeling costs of approximately $4,000 will increase the building line capacity 50 percent and are part of a major growth program in the county. This will extend from Pierce to Ahsahka and Dworshak Dam.
