Moon packed with fun
As the Harvest Moon guests enter the Best Western Lodge this
Saturday evening, Nov. 21, they’ll be treated to an array of five
gaily decorated trees in the lobby that reflect this year’s theme,
Celebrate the Season.

expresses interest in sub-leasing Dworshak State Park
Clearwater County Commissioners have sent a “letter of interest” on
behalf of the County, to the State of Idaho Department of Parks and
Recreation (IDPR), expressing the County’s interest in potentially
sub-leasing Dworshak State Park.

Haw Hee time
The annual Haw Hee is coming to Weippe Saturday, Nov. 21 at the
Community Hall, hosted by Uck and Croy, alias Ted Leach and Merk
Cannell. There will be music, laughs and something new - a dessert
social with baked goodies before the show.

Cole
Hoffman, a seventh-grader attending Orofino Junior High, became the
first ever honorary “Editor of the Day” at the Clearwater
Tribune after he wrote a letter asking how a paper is made.

Patchwork Bazaar to be held Dec. 5
The
Patchwork Bazaar, an annual arts and crafts show, is scheduled for
Saturday, Dec. 5 at Orofino High School from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Pierce"
The City of Pierce Historic Preservation Committee is asking
for anyone who has movies, pictures, slides or a personal story of
an individual or historic location in Pierce to submit them to
the committee for the making of a DVD on "A Story of Pierce."

The Idaho Department of Correction North Region Honor Guard for the
first time had the opportunity to do two separate Veterans Day
performances this year.

Board meets
At the School District 171 board meeting Nov. 16, Superintendent
Dale Durkee announced that he like to start using a new School
Activity Leave Request form (#5360F) which tracks work absences for
the certified and classified staff that need to be gone from their
main assignments for extra curricular or field trips.

pictures. Photography was Amy’s eighth grade career project, but for
a long time, she never considered it a serious career option.

boxing club in Spokane for tournament
The Orofino boxing club traveled to Spokane last weekend to content
in the USA Boxing sub-novice tournament. Teams from Idaho, Montana
and Washington were in attendance.

teams' annual Christmas wreath sale
It is time for the annual wreath fundraiser by the soccer teams in
Orofino. Helen Savage is again the lead in this effort to provide a
portion of the funds needed to continue the soccer program.

celebrates Red Ribbon Week
Orofino Elementary School (OES) celebrated Red Ribbon Week the last
week in October. Staff and students took part in theme based days,
held a door decorating contest, and had an assembly.

Plus Five
Workgroup meeting
The Plus Five Workgroup met on Monday evening, Nov. 9 to examine
trends in Clearwater County and Joint School District No. 171 with
the goal of making recommendations to the School Board as to what
steps should be taken to prepare for the 2014-15 school year.
