Get involved with Orofino Christmas Passport to win $$

Get involved with Orofino Christmas Passport and be eligible to win $300 in Orofino Chamber Bucks that can be used at businesses in the community.

As part of Orofino’s 7th Annual Christmas Festival the organizing committee has developed a new activity that will help people learn more about businesses and win great prizes.

Christmas Passport cards will be available at the Orofino Chamber of Commerce office beginning Tuesday, Nov. 24. Pick them up for $5 each. Then go around to the businesses on the card and get them stamped.

There will also be places for community events to be stamped. When the designated number of stamps is gathered, bring the card to the chamber office to be placed in a drawing for the $300 in Orofino Chamber Bucks.

In addition to the Grand Prize of $300 in Orofino Chamber Bucks, there are great merchandise prizes from businesses all over town. The deadline to enter the drawing is Saturday, Dec. 5, at 1:15 p.m. at the Patchwork Bazaar. The drawing will be at 1:30 p.m. and participants need not be present to win.

A list of participating Christmas Passport merchants will be publicized next week for those who would like to pick them up at different locations in town.

Proceeds of the Christmas Passport activity will go toward more lights for the community and other event costs.

Entrants for the Christmas Light Parade Thursday, Dec. 3, are also being sought. Those who turn in their forms by Dec. 1 will get an extra five points toward winning Orofino Chamber Bucks prizes. Contact the Orofino Chamber office, 217 1st St. for forms. They may also be returned to the chamber office. Last minute and registered entries should meet at 5 p.m. that evening by Orofino Junior High School.

Also, check out the newly created logo for Orofino’s Christmas Festival. The design by Ilena Dennison will be used in marketing and identifying activities connected with the festival.

Christmas Festival activities will continue Friday and Saturday, Dec. 4-5, with demonstrations, open houses, special presentations, a fund raising breakfast and so much more. Come enjoy Orofino's Christmas Festival 2009 with family, friends and neighbors in the community and maybe even make some new friends while beginning the celebration of the season.
