From this Chair...

What could be more fun than a jam session and potluck dinner with friends at a rural home in beautiful north central Idaho?
The Phantom and I, Darold, Marcie and Cody Stanton had the opportunity to enjoy such an event Saturday at the home of Verda Reggear. The event was hosted by her grandson Travis Reggear and his wife, Michelle. Travis’ mom, Charlotte Leonard provided the spaghetti and a huge pot of meat sauce.
There were three generations of some families present to enjoy the music, food and fellowship. There were many different salads and multiple kinds of dessert. And last but not least guests enjoyed immensely the bear sausage provided by the great white hunter Travis.
The jam session consisted of guitar music by Russ Willis, Gary Shawver and Travis Reggear, who played his guitar autographed by Ted Nugent during a recent hunting trip here.
Shawver lives at Lenore with his wife Charlene who was present Saturday evening. Russ is from Noxon, MT and was accompanied by his wife who intrigued the young children with her ability to play the spoons. They were eager to learn her skills.
The spoon player resided in Whitefish, MT for 20 years and we enjoyed visiting with her about that area as three young men from the Orofino High School class of 2005, Aaron Marvin, Eyler White and Cody Stanton are in the process of moving there to spend the winter.
As a young person in Colorado my brother, Bryce Wilkins, sister-in-law, Maxine and I spent many times together ‘jamming’ at my parent’s home in Colorado Springs and later in my brother’s garage at his home in Hugo, CO. He played the guitar, I played the piano and Maxine played the accordion.
Saturday night was a pleasant reminder to me that the good old days are not gone forever. Thanks to our hosts the Reggears for such a splendid pleasant family oriented event.
