There were ghouls, vampires witches (and princesses too) in Weippe during Halloween.

Leighton Burnette had his 5th birthday party at Uncle Jake and Aunt Kiki Cahill's in Lewiston Nov. 1. Leighton's mom and dad are Annie Cahill and Guy Burnette. Grandparents are Nancy and John Cahill. Friends attending were brother Landon, Justin, Amy, Rylan and Kaden Pate, Kopcynski family and Sabrina.

Sherry says there was a good turnout for her Happy Harvest celebration. Clairrene Heywood was the winner of the drawing for a holiday centerpiece.

The community is deeply saddened to hear of the fire that destroyed the Robles home on Lombard Road. If you would like to donate household goods for the family, contact the Becks of the Seventh-day Adventist church at 476-9174.

There is a new family in town. Hearty welcome to Mike and Melissa Weidner and children, Annabelle 15, Madaleine 12, Theron 9, Emilee 6, Garrett 1 and the new baby due any day. Mike is the pastor at Mountain Meadows Baptist Church.

The Widners come to Weippe from Prosser, WA. Melissa says Mountain Meadows Sunday School is at 10 a.m., church at 11, and Sunday evening service at 6 p.m. There is a Wednesday night prayer meeting at 6:30. Nursery available. 435-4265. If you have any questions you are welcome to call them at 435-4265.

Dolores reports there were five tables at Pinochle Sunday at the Rebekah Lodge. Gail Hibbs won high, Sheila Barteau low. Glen Smolinski and Mable Koerling got pinochle.

Are you getting ready for Thanksgiving guests/family? A Weippe resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, shares this recipe for general household cleaning: 1 cup rubbing alcohol, 1 cup ammonia, 2 tablespoons dish soap. Put in gallon jug, fill gallon jug rest of the way with water.

She also shares this streak free window cleaner. Two cups alcohol, ˝ cup sudsy ammonia, put in ˝ gallon jug, fill with water. Spray on, wipe off with lint free cloth.

Remember to Save The Date of Nov. 21 for the annual Haw Hee and NEW Dessert Social.
