Fraser friends celebrate birthdays
By Norma Brand
Carl Thornton celebrated his 73rd birthday Saturday, Oct. 24 with a party at his home on Thornton Road. His cousin, Vic Stocking, celebrated with him. Vic was born on the same day, Oct. 20, only a few minutes after Carol. Glen Erickson, Carl’s neighbor, was born on Oct. 23 of that same year. Carl’s wife, RoseAnna decided to invite family and friends in for a potluck dinner on Saturday. A potluck dinner was enjoyed before everyone sang happy birthday to the three friends. Cake and ice cream were served, and then presents and cards were opened.
Family members included; Carl’s son, Wayne from Weippe, his grandson Tyson and his wife Cheyenne and their daughter Gracelynn, RoseAnna’s daughter, Brandy and her husband, Don Dennison and their children, Neika, Cera, and Bret. Friends from the area were Travis Dennison, Peggy and Reggie Ball, Ron Johnson, Phillip Wilman and his grandson Tyler Sherrill and Norma and Steve Brand. A Big HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO Carl, Glen and Vic, we hope you enjoy many more birthdays together.
Over the weekend Marie Green’s family gathered at her home to make sauerkraut. Wilma and Dick Shedd, their daughter Alycia and Dick’s mother Bev Shedd drove out to Fraser from Lewiston, and Shirley and Ken Schoenek came from Orofino. This is a family activity, everyone enjoys making homemade sauerkraut, and of course it does taste better than anything you purchase from the store.
Mike and Linda Beard traveled to Hawaii for the wedding of Mike’s son Mark and Ann Gilmore. Mike’s daughters Missy and her son Colton, and Michelle and her daughter Chelsey traveled from western Washington to attend the wedding. Linda reported the first several days in Hawaii were hot and muggy but after the wedding it rained and the weather turned beautiful. The Beard’s have lots of pictures of this happy occasion, if you ask, they will be happy to share them with you.
Abby Brown’s class at Timberline Schools took a field trip to the Wilson Banner Ranch near Clarkston, WA. They had their pictures taken in the pumpkin patch and were able to pick out a pumpkin to bring home. Their pictures were in last week’s edition on the Clearwater Tribune. It looks like everyone had a great time.
Krystal Dahl celebrated her birthday on Saturday at the Fraser Community Center.
Linda Beard reported there will be a Pinochle Party at the Fraser Community Center on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. For more information call Linda at 208-435-4806.
Norma sends her apologies to Gail and Arthur Thompson for misspelling their names in last week’s column.
Guy and Cathy Walker, their son Jonathan and Guy’s brother Tim Prowse traveled to eastern Montana for antelope hunting. Their hunting area was 40 miles from Baker City on BLM land. Cathy reported they had a beautiful campsite, the weather was fine and they saw lots of wild life. Jonathan and Tim filled their tags. Aaron Walker works in North Dakota. On Sunday, he drove over to the family campsite for a visit.
